I wanted to do a blog post to share everything I planted in my spring garden. I will have to update you in a few months when I take out my cut flowers, the tomatoes grow up the trellis, and I plant some of the fall seeds. The garden changes overnight with new blooms and growth. When planning my garden a few years ago, I loved looking at inspiration online, so I thought these photos could bring you a little garden inspiration if you plan on building something similar! Next year, I plan to double the garden beds for more produce and cut flowers.

We just returned from a chilly walk. Bugs is napping, I have my coffee, and the fireplace is turned on. It’s the perfect opportunity to put my workout and chores on the back burner and sit down to catch you all up on life. These recaps are more of a monthly thing these days, but at least we’re doing them! I’ve been having so much fun cooking new things, baking sourdough bread, hitting fitness goals, organizing, and spending all the time I can with my son. In a month and a half, he’ll be one. This year has flown by quickly; every minute with him is important to me. Time truly is a thief.

After the holidays, I go into full gardening-obsession mode. I dream about green grass, read all the gardening books, anticipate spring bulbs, and think about watering flowers on a warm spring morning. Until the gardening season starts, I like to blog to fulfill my absence from gardening and planting. However, it can be an all-year thing. Next month, I have to start cleaning the garden beds, pruning the roses, removing old leaves and rotted mulch, and getting all the ground ready for the garden season. Last year, I faced Japanese beetles and aphids, so if you have any tips for treating them early this year, I’d love to hear them!

Since Grumples passed a few months ago, I haven’t felt complete. I’ve had a huge hole in my heart, and no matter what we did to fill up our time, things didn’t feel the same. Kyle and I talked about the possibility of growing our family with another dog but didn’t want to actively look. We agreed that the right opportunity would come around when we weren’t looking for it. Two weeks ago, I came across a post on a rescue page, and I saw him and immediately knew that he would be my dog. My heart was pulling me so hard toward him. I knew this guy was going to be in our family, and we were going to give him the best life he could ever wish for, and you all have no idea how much he deserves it.

I love to spoil my dogs. There’s nothing better when their tails are wagging, and they’re hopping all over the place.
