Most importantly, if you follow me on Instagram and check out my Instastories, you know that I've been pretty busy baking a very unique gift, and welcomed my baby son Noah just over a month ago! What a journey has been, and I'm sorry if the last few months I've been a bit quite, but now you know there was a special reason for it :).

Talking about food, it looks like you have enjoyed loads of my family favorite recipes this year!

In 2017, I focused mainly on vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free recipes, and received great feedback from you all, so I will certainly continue to focus on this area.

You have also incredibly loved reading and trying recipes inspired by my Italian roots, so you can definitely expect more of these in the upcoming year.

Traveling Home to Iowa: Family Time & State Fair Food

I just returned from Iowa a few days ago, and it was a trip filled with joy and sadness. The main reason for our visit was to see my grandma. Living 1,000 miles away from her makes it challenging to visit, especially as a mom. I wish I could go more often, but I’m incredibly grateful that my mom and I took the opportunity to travel together to spend time with her last week. It was such a special time, and I cherished every moment—having dinner with her, making her laugh, accidentally playing piano for her entire facility, and holding her hand as much as I could.
