Quick classic mince pies

If you want to try making your own mince pies, these are a great place to start.

Ingreadient

    • 2 x 320g packs Jus-Rol Shortcrust Pastry Sheet
    • 410g jar Christmas mincemeat
    • 1 tbsp semi skimmed milk
    • icing sugar

Step by step

    1. Unroll the defrosted pastry and cut 12 circles with a 8cm cutter. Use to line 12 holes of a shallow bun or cupcake tin. Cut 12 more circles using a 6cm cutter, re-rolling trimmings if needed.
    2. Fill each pastry case with 2 heaped tsp mincemeat. Press the pastry lids on top, then brush with a little milk to glaze. Cut a slit in the top of each pie to let out the steam, then chill while the oven preheats to 200ºC, gas mark 6.
    3. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden. Cool briefly in the tin, then move to a rack. Serve warm, dusted with icing sugar.
